Sommer Schrader, B.S. Elementary Education, M.S.Ed. - President, Founder, Tutor
Sommer earned both of her education degrees from Indiana University, and is a huge Hoosier sports fan! She grew up in Bloomington and began her career as a classroom teacher where she taught for seven years in first and third grades. Sommer started Blooming Buds Tutoring as a way to explore other options outside of the classroom and quickly fell in love with running the business. She finds great joy in working with families to fulfill the mission of “creating more confident and competent learners.” As a former classroom teacher, she understands how much teachers are expected to do on a daily basis, so she finds great joy in supporting them with their students who are struggling. Sommer loves to think outside the box, dig into research, and find what works for a student to make learning fun and engaging! In her free time, Sommer loves to bake, craft, and spend time with friends and family.
Shelby Bowman, B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies, M.S.Ed
Shelby has been in education for the last ten years. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She has taught a range of ages including kindergarten, first grade and third grade. She has a passion for education and helping students gain confidence and helping them achieve their goals. She loves to be creative and do crafts or be in nature during her free time!
